New Board Member Spotlight – Kelley Keeling

“As a mom of two young girls, it’s important to me to create and be part of a community that affords opportunity to everyone,” says new BCOC’s Board Member, Kelley Keeling, as she reflects on why she chose to get involved with BCOC.

Kelley first learned about BCOC through the Fresh Connect program. She had been partnering with United Way of Bucks County on a project where she became educated on the Fresh Connect services and its impact on the Bucks County community.

Kelley joined BCOC’s Board of Directors in January of 2022. She was interested in joining because she was impressed by the quality of the work, and the commitment to providing individuals with access to resources they need to be successful. She is passionate about helping others and saw the BCOC Board as a perfect opportunity to give back to the Bucks County community by lending her professional background and experience to contribute to the mission.

Kelley works for Visit Bucks County as their Senior Research & Destination Development Manager, which focuses on data collection and analysis to establish new tourism strategies and increase engagement with the Bucks County hospitality community. She also oversees the Bucks County Tourism Grant Program which distributes awards to hospitality organizations for the purpose of increasing travel to Bucks County and enhancing the visitor’s experience. Most of her career has been in tourism and hospitality, working for Destination Marketing Organizations in Montgomery and Bucks counties.

Kelley’s background gives her a unique perspective from the hospitality and travel industry, where BCOC constituents are often employed. During her time on the Board, she is looking forward to learning how to use her experience to help BCOC plan meaningful career pathways. Kelley also hopes to be a bridge to the hospitality businesses in Bucks County to increase awareness and engagement with BCOC. Once there is greater awareness, there is greater responsibility to support and be part of the solution.

“By supporting BCOC, everyone in Bucks County can play a role in making real, impactful change to the Bucks County community,” says Kelley. “There are several simple and fun ways to get involved that directly contribute to changing the trajectory of someone’s life.”
