Housing Locator- Full Time

Bucks County Opportunity Council is seeking a Housing Locator to find permanent, affordable housing throughout Bucks County for individuals and families enrolled in housing programs. Knowledge of the Bucks County real estate and apartment rental industry, customer service, collection agency experience, and negotiation skills are useful for this role. The Housing Locator is a team-oriented role that works collaboratively with Bucks County Housing Link staff and partners.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain a housing-first perspective with a sense of urgency.
• Assist clients in creating and working to meet goals to ensure housing stability.
• Provide training to clients on how to identify appropriate housing opportunities.
• Recruit, develop and maintain landlord relationships, encouraging landlord participation in housing programs and willingness to work with individuals/families experiencing homelessness.
• Ability to negotiate lease agreements and conduct housing quality inspections.
• Assist clients in stabilizing their housing crises through mediation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
• Administer financial assistance and/or provide referrals to appropriate community services.
• Receive referrals and ensure that clients experiencing a housing crisis receive quality, compassionate services.
• Empower clients to weigh and consider options, advocate for their own needs, and act on their own behalf.
• Maintain excellent communication, crisis resolution, relationship-building and organizational skills.
• Maintain complete, accurate and timely case records, including HMIS data entry.
• Meet regularly with supervisor and Bucks County Housing Link staff/parnters to review client progress as well as to report on client outcomes.
• Maintain positive working relationships with non-profit partners, social service agencies, funders, and local government offices.

 

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college/university; or one to two years related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Computer proficiency – intermediate in HMIS, Microsoft Office and database experience.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal skills, and conflict resolution.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Salary: $41,600-$45,000

Executive Assistant- Full Time

Bucks County Opportunity Council is seeking an Executive Assistant to provide high- level administrative support to the Executive Director, other senior level staff and Board of Directors. This position is full-time, with a hybrid schedule and based out of Doylestown, PA.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the efficient execution of the support work for the Executive Director, Chief Financial Officer and other leadership as directed
• Prepare correspondence, make telephone calls
• Serve as Administrative liaison for the Executive Director to the Board of Directors
• Serve as Administrative liaison for all BCOC insurances
• Annually schedule all Board, Committee, Directors, Manager and Staff Meetings
• Special projects as assigned including but not limited to preparation of statistics, assist with data and submission of reports and proposals, create, and maintain tracking tools, process and procedure and policy manuals
• Management of contracts
• Maintain electronic and hard copy files of all agency records
• Tracking agency reporting and other business timelines/deadlines
• Arrange travel and registration for training and conferences for management team and other staff as assigned
• Provide HR administrative support as assigned

Qualifications:
•  Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
• Advanced computer skills/experience with software/platforms.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Fresh Connect Community Outreach Intern

The Bucks County Opportunity Council is seeking an energetic and responsible individual to join our non-profit organization for the summer.

The Bucks County Opportunity Council’s food program supports a network of over 70 providers focused on meeting the food and nutrition needs of low-income households. In addition, the Opportunity Council’s food program operates a free mobile farmers’ market, Fresh Connect, in four locations throughout Bucks County.

This summer internship will focus on assisting the Fresh Connect Coordinator in all operations of the farmer’s market. The internship will run June 1 to August 16 with the intern reporting around 15 -20 hours a week. Internship dates can be flexible based upon the candidate’s academic calendar. Internship will require on-site availability and travel to farmers’ market locations. A stipend of $2,500 will be provided upon completion of the internship and mileage is available for gas reimbursement.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assists in pre-operational requirements for Fresh Connect program including client registration, client profile updates.
• Assists in administrative duties, including answering client questions, updating, and organizing files, etc.
• Assists in designing and updating outreach materials for Fresh Connect.
• Participates in all aspects of Fresh Connect program.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Requirements:
• At least 18 years of age
• Interest towards mission of Bucks County Opportunity Council and desire to learn more about food insecurity in Bucks County.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and a strong attention to details.
• Reliable form of transportation with willingness to travel within all of Bucks County.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds and work in varied outdoor conditions.
• Can use opportunity to fulfill high school/college requirements for real world job experiences.
