The Bucks County Opportunity Council is seeking a Fiscal Director with expertise in financial management, budgeting, and accounting principles. To perform the role effectively, individuals must understand nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, and relevant regulations. The Fiscal Director manages and performs accounting activities such as developing, implementing, and maintaining the accounting systems, policies, and procedures; compiling, analyzing, and reporting accounting data for management reports.

This full-time position reports to the Chief Financial Officer, is hybrid remote, and is based out of Doylestown, PA. Apply to BCOC to join a passionate team and make a valuable impact in the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Regular and reliable in-person attendance as outlined for position in Remote Work Policy
  • Daily operation and month-end closing
  • Assists auditors with requests and inquiries during preliminary field work and year-end audit fieldwork
  • Support preparation of financial statements
  • Maintains, analyzes and reconciles all accounts and related entries on a monthly basis
  • Preparation and oversight of Billing, Cash Disbursements, Accounts Receivable and Inventory
  • Provide technical financial advice and assistance for staff and the Executive Director
  • Prepare periodic financial statements and other reports as required by the Chief Financial Officer or Executive Director
  • Maintain computerized accounting system
  • Prepare agency, department and grant budgets as well as budget reporting
  • Supervise Accountants and Payroll Allocation Coordinator
  • Ensure compliance with all IRS, state, local and funder tax and financial reporting requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree preferred (MBA or related).
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
  • 7-10 years of professional experience with 5+ years specifically in financial management within a nonprofit setting.
  • Knowledge and ability to read and interpret contracts and grant requirements.
