Message From Our CEO

A letter to our Bucks County Community about our commitment during these uncertain times.

At the Bucks County Opportunity Council (BCOC), our mission is to reduce poverty and partner with the community to promote economic self-sufficiency. We remain steadfast in our commitment to serving the community by connecting people with resources to thrive. Through our five core program areas—Housing, Food, Tax Preparation, Weatherization, and Economic Mobility — we provide vital services that help families achieve stability and independence.

However, we are facing the potential loss or pause of critical federal funding that supports many of these essential programs. Federal funding is a cornerstone of our ability to deliver life-changing services, and if these funds are reduced or eliminated, BCOC will be forced to scale back programming, directly impacting thousands of individuals and families who rely on us for support.

We want to reassure the community that BCOC remains financially stable and committed to continuing our work. While we are in good shape today, we are deeply concerned about the potential long-term effects of funding reductions. To safeguard our programs, we are actively engaging with elected officials to advocate for the preservation of these critical resources.

In times like these, community support is more important than ever. If you believe in our mission and want to help ensure that BCOC can continue serving those in need, we encourage you to consider making a donation or supporting our advocacy efforts. Every contribution makes a difference in keeping vital services available for our neighbors.

We are grateful for the trust and support of the Bucks County community. Together, we can navigate these challenges and continue our shared mission of reducing poverty and promoting economic self-sufficiency for all.

Thank you for standing with us.
